A cautionary tale for those who maintain Drupal websites and have big mouse-clicking fingers (like me).

Recently when applying a security release (6.19 to 6.20) to a production site, I came across a situation where replacing the core Drupal files at the root of the site and running update.php silently ‘failed’. Try as I might I could not get the site to accept that the core files had been overwritten and where now version 6.20. Google for once was of no use.  read more »

Creating themes for Drupal 6 can be an involved process, not least because you have to declare a number of important aspects of the theme in an [theme_name].info file. Not complicated (when you have done it a couple of times) just a little tedious.  read more »

A couple of projects that have come my way in the last month are offering two different approaches to solving the same business problems. One of my recent projects with Wolfstar has just launched. Sam Oakley and I have developed a Drupal based social media newsroom (SMNR) for Philips.

We will be creating SMNR's for the other countries in Scandinavia over the next few months. When the dust has settled, I will publish a technical write up of how we did it and the design decisions we made.
